Master of Divinity, Franciscan School of Theology

Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Mississippi State University

Fr. John currently serves as the Chief Development Officer for the Fr. Virgil Cordano Center (FVCC), which he co-founded in 2019 with Sr. Margaret Keaveney, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent’s, and the Franciscan Friars of Old Mission Santa Barbara to provide a safe and peaceful place of respite for our homeless brothers and sisters.

Solemnly professed into the Franciscan Order in 1985 and ordained to the priesthood in Oakland in 1986, Fr. John is committed to social justice and brings a wealth of administrative experience to the Fr. Virgil Cordano Center (FVCC). After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a Master of Science in Administration in 2000, he served as the Executive Director of the St. Anthony Foundation in San Francisco (2002-2009) and Provincial Minister of the Friars of West Province (2009-2016).

When Fr. John isn’t caring for our unsheltered brothers and sisters in need through the Fr. Virgil Cordano Center (FVCC), you may find him reading, exercising on the elliptical, or attending Torah classes.
